Computer Killing You

Solomon and I had a great week. Thanks to everyone who has decided to subscribe to this project. We are going to keep you updated on all of the great progress we make. We have made significant updates to www.ComputerKillingYou.com. Make sure to check out all of the features (i.e. share your story, vote for us on ideablob, and all of our posts).

  1. Contacted Blizzard Entertainment's PR department to get an interview for the film. World of Warcraft reached 11.5 million subscribers worldwide in December, 2008 and sold 2.8 million copies of Wrath of the Lich King in 24 hours, making it fastest selling PC game of all time! We WILL definitely be covering it in the documentary.
  2. Presented Your Computer is Killing you in Santa Monica on March 16th and in West Hollywood on March 18th at Bloblive We did an interview with the LA Times about BlobLive and mentioned the status of our project. Solomon and I met originally at a BlobLive in Westwood where he presented his idea for Open Source Films. People were very receptive to the idea of the film and said we are definitely on to something. We got lots of great feedback like : Are you guys Luddites? People who are against technology because of our film. Ha! That is definitely not the case! We love computers, video games, and technology. I will do a whole post on this to clear up this issue.
  3. We hit over 1000 hits in one day on www.ComputerKillingYou.com
  4. We entered to win a contest to win $10,000 to help fund the film at Your Computer's Killing You!. Vote for us!!!! With more money, we can get more in-person interviews, cover more, and make a better film.
  5. Received our Boom Mic! and 2 TB RAID 5 hard drive.
  6. Received testimonials for computer related injury and video game addiction
  7. Built the I Shot the Camera open source documentary site.
  8. Interviewed author Deborah Quilter over the phone. She wrote the first Computer Related Injury all day, A Computer User's Guide. She's awesome.
  9. We sent out 100's of emails to bloggers, medical experts, accredited speakers, and techies.
  10. We cold-called doctors all over California and asked questions about Carpal Tunnel Surgery.
  11. Contacted the Ergo Expo for a press pass and speaking engagement. Please send an email to nroldan@ergoexpo.com to nominate us to speak at the next event.

We have been doing lots of planning and filming for both documentaries this week. We would love feedback on our tag lines and graphics for our websites. We have a great sense of urgency! People have told us that they had the idea to make this film 10-15 years ago. The sooner we get this film out, the more people better we can help. Please send us your stories and vote for us on ideablob. The link is above.
