Every once in a while isn’t it great to just sit down and watch a movie that is filled with childish jokes and crazy antics? In todays hectic, work focused lives a little time out is often called for, and what better way to relax than with some good old fashioned comedy movies that you can sit down and watch leaving your brain fixed firmly at the door! I’m sure you all have your own personal favourite films that keep you coming back for more time after time, and just never seem to grow tiresome. You know, the sort of movie that you find yourself repeating lines from and wondering how the hell something as stupid as this could have ever become so hilarious! Well, here at Solomon Rothman Films we’ve decided to put together a small list of our top 5 comedy films that are jam packed with crazy but fun scenes, and as if this wasn’t enough we’ve also added youtube videos and images of the best bits to help you remember those classic lines. Keep reading, and don’t forget to add your own favourites to our list by commenting below!

Happy Gilmore happygil1.jpg This is my all time favourite comedy movie. Providing some of the best lines ever and for the sheer fact that it has made a film about golf amusing I adore it. Shooter, Happy and Chubbs are some of the most entertaining characters in a comedy film ever and no matter how many times I see this one it just never stops being funny. Below is one of my favourite scenes from Happy Gilmore with Shooter and Happy at the bar.

Zoolander bluesteel.jpg Zoolander definitely deserves to rank highly in this list. Ben Stiller plays Derek Zoolander, a male model who can’t turn left. Starring alongside Owen Wilson as Hansel, Zoolander finds himself part of a huge fashion conspiracy arranged by the great Mugatu (Will Ferrell) Fantastic cast and some brilliant scenes. Check out the clip I found on youtube which shows some of the best bits.

Napoleon Dynamite napolian.jpg Napolean Dynamite stars Jon Heder in his breakthrough performance. He plays the part of Napolean brilliantly and I loved the one liners that crop up in this movie. My favourite parts are where Napolean gets on the bus filled with school kids, a little boy asks him “What are you going to do today Napolean?” to which Napoean quickly shoots back “Whatever I feel like I wanna do, GOSH!” that and the fantastic dance scene towards the end. See the video below for all these and more!

Robin Hood – Men In Tights rhood2.jpg This has been one of my favourite comedy movies for a long time simply because of its simplicity and wonderfully childish humour. Directed by Mel Brooks and starring the brilliant Cary Elwes (another of my favourite actors) it is filled with quite possibly the most ridiculous scenarios, songs and quotes in the history of comedy films. My favourite parts of the movie are when Robin has to cross the bridge blocked by ‘Little’ john. “If we don’t get no tolls, then we don’t eat no rolls. I made that up myself” and of course the ‘Men in Tights’ dancing scene (Below) It is just too hard to pick out all my favourite bits as I think the whole film is just pure genius so view the you tube clip below for a couple of the best bits and if you haven’t already seen the movie go out and get yourself a copy!

The Wedding Singer wedding_singer.jpg Starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore The Wedding Singer is far from your standard romantic comedy. It provides a great soundtrack of funny, quirky and catchy songs and has some classic quotes like the scene where the father of the bride at one of the weddings gets annoyed with Robbie: Father of the Bride: Hey, buddy; I'm not paying you to share your thoughts on life. I'm paying you to sing. Robbie: Well, I have a microphone, and you don't, SO YOU WILL LISTEN TO EVERY DAMN WORD I HAVE TO SAY! My favourite part of the film is when Robbie makes up the song for Julia and sings it on the plane, you can check out the clip below to see the scene in all its glory! Now, this may sound like I am

Now, this may sound like I am completely boring and grumpy, but I'm not really into comedy films at all!

The only ones I tend to like are Rom Coms, and I must admit to laughing alomost all the way through BJD 1&2 (when I wasn't crying at least!)

I haven't seen any of the films mentioned in your article, but it was extremely interesting to see your views and compare someones elses sense of humour against mine - great article!
