10 Reasons To Love the Beckham’s – A Positive Look at Posh and Becks.
Victoria and David Beckham are always in the forefront of the media eye. You cannot escape reading about them no matter how hard you try, but rather than being in the spotlight for their positive impact on the entertainment world lately they seem to be frequently bad mouthed and criticised both as people and as entertainers. I like the Beckham’s, I’m not a huge fan but I genuinely don’t understand what is so bad about them and am so sick of reading articles constantly revolving around how skinny Posh is (Admittedly she could do with getting a few of those curves back that she used to have, stick think is NOT a good look lets get that straight) or about how David has got no personality. So instead of writing a standard article this week I decided to take a look at some of the Beckham’s good qualities both as people and as entertainers and see how this faired against everyone’s opinion of them...
Hit reply after the article and let me know what you guys think to David and Victoria. What do you love/hate about them and why? We want details here please people! 10 Reasons Why We Love The Beckham’s
1) Victoria’s sense of fashion and her impact on the fashion scene in general. Say what you like about Victoria, but her sense of style is immaculate. She always looks her best and has a great sense of style and individuality, rather than copy what others are wearing she knows what looks good on her and sticks to it.
2) David Beckham’s Comeback after he was disgraced by the British public in the 1998 World Cup. I was one of those millions of people screaming “Idiot!” or slightly less tame words to that effect when David Beckham received that infamous Red Card for kicking Diego Simeone. Many (OK, just about everyone) believed it was the reason we didn’t win the World Cup that year as David Beckham was not able to take a penalty shoot out. Despite having his face pasted onto dartboards in UK pubs and receiving death threats on a daily basis David managed to turn this around and went on to win back the British Public’s trust by helping them qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2002 after taking a fantastic free kick. Having the ability to bounce back from this and several other incidents during his football career makes me like David Beckham even more for his strength of character and intense self belief.
3) David & Victoria’s Marriage. Despite having their fair share of up’s and downs (Remember Rebecca Loo’s anyone??) David and Victoria have remained one of the strongest couples in the entertainment world today. The couple married on July 4th 1999 and have remained close, supporting each other in ever decision with Victoria backing David 100% on his various career, football club and housing moves even though some required her moving away from friends and family to several different countries. When you watch them on camera together they really do have an amazing chemistry and a strong bond that other celebrity couples seem to lack nowadays.
4) Let’s hear it for the kids! The Beckham’s have produced some of the cutest kids ever, they are also extremely well mannered and brought up in as ‘normal’ conditions as can be expected within a superstar family. They are taught about discipline and are far from spoiled. Brooklyn Joseph Beckham, Romeo James Beckham, and Cruz David Beckham are going to grow up to be quite the heartbreakers I’m sure and maybe even follow in their dad’s footsteps and become great footballers too!
5) Victoria’s Sense of Humour. Victoria has always been slagged off in the press and accused of being moody, grumpy and pouty. Whilst she does have that trademark ‘Pout’ I seriously disagree with those who say she has no sense of humour! I think just about the whole of the world failed to see that her recent TV show ‘Victoria Beckham: Coming to America’ was actually a piss take of her life, it was not supposed to be taken seriously, the clue to this should have probably been at the start of the program when they stated that the part of Victoria’s PA is played by an ACTRESS. She was sending herself up, it’s called British humour. I’m so sick of hearing comments like “She’s so arrogant” “Did you hear when she accused the PA of fancying David?” It was a JOKE people! For goodness sake, the whole show was her way of taking the piss/poking fun at herself and what she knows people say about her. I like people who don’t take themselves too seriously and can laugh at themselves and that was exactly what she was doing so good for her.
6) David’s Move to America After all the crap that the British public have given David over the years it’s hardly surprising that he’s buggered off to America really is it? On 11th January 2007 it was confirmed that David Beckham would be joining MLS team Los Angeles Galaxy and that the whole family would move to America. This is going to be great for American ‘Soccer’ to have David on board, not so good for us Brits now though!
7) Showbiz Pals The Beckham’s certainly know how to move country in style don’t they! No sooner had the move been announced; they’ve become best friends with TomKat! (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) I’d like to thank all of them for providing me with hours of cheesy entertainment watching them schmooze at showbiz events and am enjoying watching how Katie Holmes actually seems to be morphing into Victoria Beckham has kept me highly entertained. Seriously, watch her! What with the hair and dress sense you won’t be able to tell them apart soon. Ahh it’s been fun to read about!
8) Charity Work With all the money that David and Victoria make, they most certainly haven’t become greedy, or forgotten about those worse off than them. David Beckham has supported the children’s charity UNICEF since his Manchester United days and is also a spokesman for Malaria No More.
9) The Spice Girls Love them or hate them the Spice Girls were one of the best selling bands of all time. They promoted the term ‘Girl Power’ and although most of us over the age of 15 thought they were a little bit naff they helped a lot of younger girls to stand up for, and believe in themselves more which has to be a good thing surely?
10) Family Values I’ve mentioned the Beckham’s kids and how I think they are adorable, but the whole Beckham family unit just seems to work really well. David and Victoria idolise their children and if you can manage to catch any of the documentaries they have done you will see how they are never too busy for their kids or to spend time together. Every effort is made for grandparents and friends and family to be around them as much as possible and whilst other celebrities are happy to leave their children under the care of a nanny full time whilst they work the Beckham’s have a very different attitude and try to keep a down to earth, stable family home. Let’s just hope that now they have moved to LA they don’t get too caught up in the party lifestyle and continue to remember what is important in life. What do you guys like or dislike about the Beckham’s and how do you think they are going to get on living in America?

You make some very good
You make some very good points. Personally I don't care about them - I'm very indifferent towards them and, indeed, any celebrity. I just don't get this obsession with celebrity and this whole celebrity obsessed society we seem to live in.
As a footballer I can respect David (even though as a singer I can't respect Victoria!) but so long as they're happy and they don't cause problems for anybody else... let them be.
I must admit, I really admire
I must admit, I really admire David for the way he made a come back after the '98 world cup.
The jury is out on Victoria as far as I am concerned. There are times I really like her, and others when she drives me mad..... and the moment, I'm relatively indifferent!
Well.. I dont feel they
Well.. I dont feel they deserve the slagging off they have had over the past few years. Why you ask? For one, they made their money off their own backs, 2, just because Victoria looks thin, toned, beautiful, well wouldnt we all if we we're multi-millionaires? YES I cry!! And another point to consider about this very famous couple is they are only doing what we'd love to do... you cant deny that. Good luck to the beautiful people. There is only one thing that I dont like... and that is how the American Celebs are hanging about Posh & Beck's tailcoats, its wooden and false, and funny. They are all falling over themselves to be buddies with the famous brits.
